About Me

I am Tim Belger, an 18-year-old who is persuing a bachelor of Communication and Multimedia Design at the University of applied science at Rotterdam.

During my day-to-day life I like to work out, hang out with friends and play video games. I work at a cleaning company where I clean offices, and wash windows. I love to work on creative projects with Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

Four words my friends and family would use to describe would be: "Daring, ambitious, cheeky and relaxed". They chose these words because they are the most showing traits of my personality. "Daring" captures my willingness to take risks and explore new things. "Ambitious" highlights my drive to achieve my goals. "Cheeky" represents my playful and mischievous side. "Relaxed" signifies my calm and composed nature, even in stressful situations. These qualities together paint a well-rounded picture of who I am.

CMD qualities

I love tackling challenges in projects and expanding my software skills. Currently, I enjoy editing with Premiere Pro, though I haven’t used it much in Design Challenges. However, I’ve improved outside school and become proficient in Figma, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.

Creative problem-solving brings me the most joy. In DC2, I edited our product video but faced audio issues at home, just a day before the exposition. To fix this, I arranged a microphone at school and had my team record a voice-over, finishing the video just in time.

I thrive in teamwork, feeling most productive and motivated when collaborating. I can lead when needed, ensuring organization and clear task division, as I did as team captain in DC2. I also adapt well when following others. I stay flexible with changing plans and ask critical questions to achieve the best results. In DC3, when teammates were frequently absent, we adjusted our plan to ensure accountability and meet deadlines effectively.

For me, designing is a way to turn my creative thinking power into energy. I started using Adobe Photoshop for the first time when I was fourteen during the Covid-19 lockdown. I started making some Photoshop edits that didn't have any purpose, they were just some funny pictures I would create. During the lockdown, I started to get better at Photoshop and eventually learnt how to use Premiere Pro as well, which I would use to edit Minecraft videos.

The reason I love using programs such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro is that I really value the idea that I can make anything I want, and the only limit is my own creativity. Whenever I have an idea or the urge to create something, I can just record a video and edit it in every way possible. I think the endless possibilities that exist when you are designing is something truly beautiful, and I think that's the reason I am now persuing CMD.

Another big driving factor for my interest in designing is my ambition to become the best version of myself. I really enjoy to always be active and to have a project going in which I can work on myself.
